Chino is truly a remarkable man. Fifty years ago, when he was 18 years old, he showed up in Naches with nothing more than $20 and the clothes on his back. For two weeks, he survived on a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread, sleeping in a cherry tree and bathing in the irrigation canal. In the process of looking for work, Bob Allan found out how he had been living and took Chino home to give him a proper meal. Bob provided him housing and got him started working in the orchards. As the years went on, the Allan family helped Chino take night classes at Davis High School to learn how to read Spanish. They helped him get him get his driver’s license and eventually his US citizenship.
For over 50 years, Chino has loyally worked for three generations of Allans and views them as his family. We are so grateful and proud to have outstanding employees like Chino as part of the Allan Bros team.
